Job description:
A QSI Art teacher is accountable to the school’s Director and/or Director of Instruction and is expected to follow QSI Curriculum and Mastery Learning/OBE instructional practices. Art teacher will promote and model the QSI Success Orientations, expect all students to be successful and ensure that a positive classroom environment promotes a high standard of instructional expertise. Art Teacher is a professional who is responsible for teaching students various techniques and principles of art.

Job responsibilities
- Plan, prepare and deliver lessons that align with the school's curriculum and educational standards.
- Teach students about various art techniques, styles, and mediums.
- Encourage creativity and self-expression in students through art projects and assignments.
- Assign work, correct, and provide prompt feedback on all assignments.
- Communicate, consult and co-operate with other members of the school staff, including administration and parents/guardians to ensure the best interest of students.
- Ensure high standards of professional behavior and use of best teaching practices.
- Maintain good order and discipline among students under his/her care and safeguarding their health and safety at all times.
- Participate in weekly staff meetings related to the school curriculum, Success Orientations, for the better organization and administration of the school.
- Collaborate with school personnel.
- Participate in and prepare for school assemblies on a regular basis.
- Register and monitor the attendance of students .
- Share in any possible and reasonable way in the effective management, organization, order and discipline of the school including shared recess duties.
- Support the school’s activity program by leading at least one afterschool club per week.
- Follow QSI Guidelines and Expectations as written and published in the QSI Employee Booklet.
- Teachers are required to be available for the Parent Teacher Conferences, Scheduled parent meetings (including open-house, welcome meetings, etc.), School evening or weekend events.
Required qualifications
- University degree in Art Education or related field/Teaching certification or license
- Experience in teaching art to students of all ages.
- Ability to plan and deliver engaging art lessons.
- Ability to manage a classroom effectively and maintain a positive learning environment.
- Experience in multicultural, multinational, and multi-ethnic environments preferred.
- Advanced level of ability in English, Armenian.
- Computer skills.
- Passion for art and a commitment to promoting creativity and self-expression in students.
- Excellent organizational, analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to build positive relationships with a high level of interpersonal skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to prioritize tasks according to importance in a fast-paced environment.
- Multi-tasking capability without compromising on quality.
- Experience collaborating with other teachers and staff to support student learning.
- Dependable, punctual, and able to work flexible working hours.
- Globally minded and eager to work with people from diverse backgrounds and holding diverse viewpoints.
