Job description:
Chemonics International seeks a Communications and Reporting Specialist for the five-year U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID)-funded Armenia Strategic Communications Support Activity. The Activity will support the Government of Armenia (GOAM) to build effective streamlined, data-driven, and citizen-centered strategic communications systems, capacity, and practices. Specifically, the Activity will support GOAM in the following three main focus areas: 1) enable the institutional set-up and talent management of the public sector’s streamlined strategic communications; 2) ensure the public sector has institutionalized systems and capacity for data-driven information management to inform strategic communications; and 3) foster citizen-centered strategic communications and public outreach.
Position Description:
The Communications and Reporting Specialist will be part of the Collaborating, Learning, and Adapting (CLA) team and will manage all Activity reporting in line with contract requirements and timelines. The Communications and Reporting Specialist will work to showcase Activity results by developing high quality, creative, and impactful program communications content and materials that amplify the program’s activities for USAID and other stakeholders.

Job responsibilities

Implement a comprehensive communications strategy for the Activity that will set content and quality standards for all program materials and outreach including identifying, preparing, and disseminating core messages, results, and successes to target audiences

Support the development and implementation of the Activity Strategic Communications Plan

Lead the draft of Activity deliverables including but not limited to annual work plans, quarterly reports, and annual reports; liaise with component teams to ensure necessary inputs are provided for quarterly, annual, and ad-hoc USAID reporting and that reports capture results and impact

Ensure all Activity reporting meets contractual requirements and deadlines; act as a first-line reviewer to ensure that technical activities and results are accurately captured and presented in an impactful manner for the intended audience

In coordination with the component teams, lead the draft of ad-hoc communication materials, such as success stories, videos about program activities, infographics, press releases, etc.

Leverage web and social media tools to communicate and amplify program impact and successes

In consultation with USAID and program staff, create program materials and templates as needed

Perform other duties as required or assigned
Required qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in communications, sociology, international relations, or related field required; master’s degree preferred

At least six (6) years of experience in program communications and reporting for donor-funded activities; USAID experience strongly preferred

Demonstrated experience effectively utilizing web and social media platforms for program impact communications and amplification

Proven ability to meet tight deadlines and prioritize effectively

Excellent writing and editing skills in both English and Armenian, with demonstrated experience with report writing and editing for donor-funded programs

Experience working with a wide range of stakeholders including government counterparts, civil society, and private sector partners

Demonstrated ability to fully and effectively communicate in English, both oral and written, is required
