Greenpact was established in 2017 in the Netherlands with an aim to initiate a dialogue on how banking, financial institutions, and businesses can implement sustainable banking both in their internal daily operations and their activities relating to external interactions with their clients and investors and the types of projects they fund. Greenpact provides capacity building to improve the technical understanding of banks about sustainable finance and close the knowledge gap for the banking industry to seize the green finance opportunities. Recently Greenpact launched the EECA Sustainable Banking Initiative to facilitate the transition to a green economy in Eastern Europe, Caucasus, and Central Asia. We create and provide access to sustainability-related content in order to promote sustainable banking standards and ESG criteria in Eastern Europe and Central Asia.
In 2018 we started the project SusFinForum with an aim to help the finance sector in EECA region to transition to green economy. As a fuel of the economy the finance sector is in an influential position to steer the capital towards a future we want to build (CISL 2017). SusFinForum provides the regional platform to discuss the steps and the action plan towards this future that respects our planetary boundaries.
Greenpact is the main organizer of SusFinForum in collaboration with our sponsors and partners. Visit our website for more info: www.thegreenpact.nl
