Job Description:

The Third Party Risk Specialist is responsible for overseeing and managing risks associated with third parties.

Job responsibilities
  • Develop, implement, and maintain a comprehensive third-party risk management framework, including policies, procedures, and standards which align with industry best practices and regulatory requirements (e.g. CBA, DORA).
  • Collaborate with IT teams, business units and other stakeholders to identify and assess potential risks associated with third-party relationships throughout the lifecycle (i.e. onboarding, ongoing monitoring and termination).
  • Perform due diligence on prospective and existing third parties, including IT security assessments, operational reviews and compliance checks.
  • Conduct risk assessments, proactively identifying emerging third-party risks, developing mitigation strategies and action plans.
  • Develop and implement key risk indicators and metrics to track and report on third-party risk exposure.
  • Collaborate with departments to detect, manage and mitigate risks across functional lines related to the Bank’s critical third parties.
  • Taking a risk-based approach, develop the risk management framework to the specific risks associated with different types of third-party relationships and services.
  • Contribute to the design and implementation of enhancements for internal controls related to third-party management, such as vendor management, contract monitoring and data protection.
  • Perform quantitative and qualitative analysis and assessment of third-party risks to determine the Third party risk classification.
  • Perform targeted risk assessments, provide recommendations to business owners and control owners.
  • Monitor the effectiveness of risk mitigation actions and controls implemented by third parties.
  • Maintain a repository of the Bank’s third parties, their respective risk assessments and other relevant documentation.
  • Manage and analyze third-party incidents and breaches.
  • Review and evaluate third party contracts to ensure adequate risk management.
  • Provide training and awareness programs to employees on third-party risk
Required qualifications
  • University degree in Risk Management, Supply Chain Management, Economics or a related field.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in risk management, compliance, vendor management, procurement or a related field, with some involvement in third-party oversight.
  • Understanding of third-party risk management lifecycle
  • Knowledge of relevant regulations and industry best practices related to third-party risk (e.g. DORA, GDPR, industry-specific regulations).
  • Experience in conducting risk assessments and due diligence reviews of third parties, including financial, operational, reputational, compliance and cybersecurity risks.
  • Experience with contract reviews related to risk management and mitigation.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify, assess and prioritize risks.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with internal stakeholders at all levels.  
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (e.g. Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and Business Intelligence tools (e.g. Tableau, PowerBI).
  • Experience with GRC (Governance, Risk, and Compliance) software or other relevant risk management tools are a plus.
  • Excellent knowledge of Armenian, Russian and English
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Commitment to work and high sense of responsibility
