Job responsibilities
What you will do:
The jobholder will act in the capacity Accounting and Control Senior Manager in Finance Department.
The roleholder is responsible for supervision of HBAM Accounting and Control function, provision of accounting and tax oversight and consulting, coordination of monthly reconciliation and substantiation processes for General Ledger accounts and conduction of Quality Assurance Tests, budget monitoring and cost control, tax reporting including Tax transfer pricing reporting. The roleholder provides cover to the Head of Financial Control by temporary taking over relevant responsibilities, acts as a second line of defence for payments processed by AP function.
In this role you will be responsible for:
- Responsible for checking of accounting and tax treatment of third party payments and other accounting entries done by Accounts Payable team to ensure the transactions are completely and accurately recorded in Bank’s books in compliance with Group and Local (including Tax) regulation requirements, internal procedures and policies
- Responsible for accurate financial and tax accounting in compliance with Group, Central Bank and Local (including Tax) regulation requirements
- Responsible for process review and improvement through initiation of new accounting control tools aiming to reinforce the checking process of various accounting entries processed by Accounts Payable team
- Responsible for smooth management of Bank’s loans provisioning process as per CBA requirements to ensure accurate and errorless reflection of provisioning entries
- Responsible for smooth maintenance of discount unwind entries per IFRS requirements
- Responsible for Fixed Assets depreciation check and reconciliation of related GL and P&L accounts between HUB and Armsoft.
- Responsible for liaison with Foreign Counterparts to ensure efficient tax treatment and application of Double Tax Treaties
- Responsible for annual review of provision for investment in securities
- Responsible for provision of regular comprehensive analysis of different cost lines for the purpose of suggesting value added cost reduction initiatives and supporting in overall cost management activities
- Responsible for the provision of trustworthy cost estimates during Annual Operating Plan submission
- Responsible for the provision of function related data for External Audit and CBA, Group and Tax audit reviews
- Responsible for leading function related projects
- Responsible for Functions Related Desk instruction manuals and Procedures update, as well as other annual tasks
- Responsible for Repossessed collateral register maintenance, accounting advise provision during assets purchase/sale process, correct recording of asset purchase/sale transactions and respective taxes.
- Responsible for Third Party Engagement Management end-to-end process
- Responsible for expired debtor’s agreement annual review and further processing in Armsoft system
- Responsible for accounting opinion provision on new contracts arranged by Procurement
- Responsible for monthly Tax on Income and quarterly Withholding tax reports preparation and submission, checking of VAT return supporting reports and tax payments reconciliation
- Responsible for Tax transfer pricing reporting
- Responsible for Tax Quality Assurance checks performance of non-finance processes
- Responsible for team management and development
- Sundry duties as required
Required qualifications
You should apply if you have:
- University degree in Accounting/Finance/Economics
- Minimum three years of related work experience in finance (banking sector is preferable)
- Knowledge of banking and international accounting standards
- Tax knowledge and experience is an asset
- Advanced knowledge of job related PC applications
- ACCA, CFA qualification is an asset
- Good analytical skills, proactive, dynamic and self-starter
- Accuracy and detail orientation
- Ability to work under pressure
- Knowledge of written and spoken English
- Awareness of AS (Armenian Software) Bank application is an asset
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
