The Role
The Head of Engineering at TUMO is more than a leadership position; it's a call to action for someone who is driven to make a significant impact in the world of education. You will oversee our engineering teams, guiding them in the creation and continuous improvement of our learning platforms and systems. Your responsibilities will encompass strategic planning, team leadership, quality, innovation, and the execution of projects that deliver stunning results to our learners and stakeholders.

Job responsibilities
- Results-Oriented Leadership
Drive the engineering department towards measurable outcomes, focusing on the development and delivery of products that contribute significantly to TUMO's growth and mission fulfillment. - Innovation and User Focus
Lead the charge in innovating educational technology and platforms that prioritize user experience and impact. Encourage a culture of creativity, problem-solving, and user-centric design among the teams. - Collaboration and Communication
Work closely with the CDO and other department heads to ensure a cohesive approach to achieving TUMO's strategic objectives. Maintain open communication channels, both within the engineering teams and across the organization. - Strategic Leadership and Execution
Develop and execute a technology strategy that aligns with TUMO's overarching goals. Ensure that projects are completed with a focus on quality, user experience, and scalability, driving the organization closer to its mission. - Team Development and Performance
Elevate the engineering team's performance through effective leadership, mentorship, and by fostering a culture of continuous improvement and accountability. Ensure that every team member, regardless of seniority, grows as a leader within their domain.
Required qualifications
- A proven track record in leading engineering teams to deliver high-impact projects, with a particular emphasis on educational technology or related fields.
- Strong strategic thinking and planning abilities, with experience in setting and achieving ambitious goals.
- Exceptional leadership skills, capable of motivating and guiding a diverse team towards excellence and continuous growth.
- A deep commitment to TUMO's mission of creating life changing learning experiences on a large scale and a passion for making a difference.
- Outstanding problem-solving skills, with a knack for innovative thinking and a user-focused approach to technology development.
- Excellent communication skills, capable of articulating complex technical strategies to non-technical stakeholders.

What is TUMO?
TUMO is a new kind of educational experience at the intersection of technology and design.
At TUMO, teens learn because they want to. They’re given the tools and knowhow they need to reach their maximum potential, and they chart their own learning path through hands-on activities, workshops and projects.
The TUMO learning program is made up of self-learning activities, workshops and project labs around 14 learning targets. Teens combine these into personal learning paths that adapt to their evolving preferences and rate of progress.

Our Locations
TUMO has centers in Yerevan, Dilijan, Gyumri and Stepanakert and work is underway to open centers in Koghb and Masis. TUMO Boxes are already in operation in the towns of Berd, Gavar, Sevan, Vayk, Kapan and Martakert. Many more TUMO Boxes will open soon in various towns throughout Armenia and Artsakh. Outside of Armenia, there are centers in Paris, Beirut, Moscow, Tirana, Berlin and Lyon. Centers will soon open in several other cities around the world.
